Operation Lead (Asset Owner)

Your Challenge!

 

The Bear Island Mill is the newest addition to the Cascades Containerboard Packaging lineup. This state-of-the-art facility will offer one of the lightest high end, 100% recycled linerboard and medium products on the market. The mill is currently under construction and start-up is scheduled for December 2022.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Asset Owner of the paper machine's mission is to be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, including creating and executing daily action plan developing production operators and supporting the Process Lead and Maintenance Lead in implementation, improvement, and sustainability of Daily Management System (DMS) elements as well as Health and Safety training. 

Job responsibilities

Develop and execute on shift action plan and daily action plan

Present daily updates and action plans in area meeting

Define, implement, and continuously improve processes while coaching operators to follow standard practices

Validate daily performance, transactions, and time losses

Validate daily quality tests and addresses any issues

Share best practices with other Asset Owners

Perform Health and Safety audits, develop plans for creating an orderly and clean work environment; owns A-risks

Create action plan to address time losses

Ensure continuous improvement

Coach operators on how to properly communicate

Coach operators and evaluates performance as part of annual review

Experience and Education

Pulp and Paper experience

Experience leading and coaching teams

Extensive knowledge of asset and associated processes

Demonstrates good analytical, problem-solving skills

Demonstrates ability to overcome ambiguous and complex situations

Brings strong organizational and prioritization skills

Experience and understanding of Lean Production System principles

Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well and communicate with others

Demonstrate strong servant leadership value
