The Containerboard Packaging Group, a division of Cascades, is the largest containerboard producer in Canada, and is also a top converter of corrugated products in the country. The Group manufactures a wide range of products made from recycled fibres for its North American customers in the food, beverage and consumer products sectors, among many others. The Division, which employs close to 3,400 people, owns six containerboard mills and nineteen corrugated products plants in Canada and the United States.

Your Challenge!

Cascades announced in August 2017, a major investment of $80 Million dollars for the construction of a new packaging plant in Piscataway, New Jersey. This new plant will create 120 jobs, manufacture corrugated packaging products, and be among the most modern of its kind in North America. The plant will begin its operation in the second quarter of 2018 with a total annual capacity of 2.4 billion square feet of product. The Piscataway conversion plant will only have state-of-the-art technology.


The Parts and Inventory Clerk (Store Clerk) will be responsible for assessing the Maintenance departments needs and maintaining inventory levels for the containerboard machines. This role will also create the storage system and process for inventory tracking. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform receiving and reconciliation activities for all MRO within SAP to include, posting goods receipts, validation of correct part from purchase order, validation of accurate quantity, communicating to storeroom manager and buyer regarding discrepancies or cost savings opportunities, execute transactional codes to investigate/resolve all quantity, and advise resolution updates.
  • Responsible for coordinating with planners and kitting and issuing parts to service technicians.
  • Coordinate refurbishments of parts to include contacting vendor, scheduling shipping, requesting PO and placing RMA number.
  • Provide shipping and returns within SAP as necessary.
  • Perform routine, quarterly and annual cycle counting for mill storeroom and satellite store room.
  • Create parts reporting as requested via Excel spreadsheets.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment which entailed inventory/parts management, shipping, receiving, and/or maintenance.  


  • Must have strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office and SAP.   
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.  
  • Strong attention to detail and organized.  
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Knowledge of safe storage and handling of chemicals and maintenance supplies.
