Greenpac Mill in Niagara Falls, NY is seeking an aspiring HR Professional to train and develop in its HR Succession Program.  As HR Succession, you will be an HR Manager in Training, reporting to the HR Manager of the Greenpac Mill.  You will be involved in the day-to-day Human Resources responsibilities of that location and others, and exposed to complex situations to build the critical skillset of employee relations and stewardship of the Cascades' strategic mission.  The goal of the Succession program is to develop the selected candidate into an HR Manager who will take that role in a Cascades Mill when a role becomes available (relocation may be required).  Candidates must be accepting to and enthusiastic about traveling to other mills during their develop to support and diversify their skills.  

Job Responsibilities

The HR Manager in Succession will perform a wide variety of human resources administrative and general office duties to become familiar with the role of HR Manager in Cascades, and to become familiar with the primary unit to which they will report.

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Aiding in recruitment for production and maintenance technicians and some exempt salaried roles.
  • University outreach and management of the intern program.
  • Management of the temporary workforce and temp agency relations.
  • Management of employee recognition programs.
  • Coordinate company and employee engagement events.
  • Conduct onboarding and new hire orientations.
  • Payroll, benefit, and HR data reporting and analysis.
  • Processing employee payroll submissions and tracking annual allowances.
  • Special projects and employee relations initiatives as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree is required (Human Resources or related degree)
  • 1-3 years of HR experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to complete tasks on time, juggle multiple deadlines and provide great customer service
  • Prior exposure to HR functions (through education or work experience)
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and maintain confidential information
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel is required
