The Group has more than 2,200 employees and operates seven manufacturing plants, nine conversion plants and four plants with both manufacturing and conversion facilities.

Job Responsibilities


Reporting to the Technical Director Operational Efficiency, the Operations Support Project Leader Paper Machine will have the following responsibilites:


  • Be responsible for the YDMS program ;
  • Monitor Yankee surfaces on shutdowns:
    • Thickness measurements ;
    • Diameter ;
    • Surface roughness ;
    • Surface hardness ;
  • Coordinate and conduct annual internal inspections (internal measurements) ;
  • Assist mill with pressure vessel legal compliance ;
  • Ensure proper doctoring ;
  • Ensure YDMS program is up-to-date to TAPPI standards ;
  • Plan, monitor and approve Yankee grinds and re-surfacing:
    • Ensure, monitor and assist with crowns ;
  • Pressure roll loading calculation and monitoring:
    • Ensure, monitor and assist with crowns ;  
  • Conduct minor Yankee surface repairs ;
  • Assist in emergency mechanical breakdowns ;
  • Assist in paper machine troubleshooting ;
  • Support major projects.


The Operations Support Project Leader Paper Machine will work and train with current paper machine specialist.

  • Ensure the continuity of gains related to the mandate
  • Maximize a synergy of resources (internal/external)
  • Make recommendations about improvement opportunities that will take account of impacts on the project and the global realities of the client and his/her business partners
  • Ensure compliance with standardized best practices (SLA, mandate acceptance, project management processes, etc.) in all his/her unit’s areas of activity

Desired experience


  • Mechanical background 7-10 years ;
  • Knowledge in Metallurgy and Thermodynamics ;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) ;
  • Knowledge of steam systems and pressure vessels.
