As a member of the Operational Efficiency team, the Project leader Continuous Improvement in succession-USA will have the primary mission of supporting the implementation, of Cascades' continuous improvement program in our manufacturing sites located in the United States by teaching the techniques, planning & facilitating workshops and coaching staff. They will work closely with corporate continuous improvement directors to ensure the uniformity of the program and its tools. With a mindset focused on continuous improvement, they will support initiatives aimed at increasing our capacity, reducing our costs, and improving employee engagement. They will be a key contributor to driving operational excellence and supporting the strategic projects of our American business units.
The candidate will be deployed for a period of 1-2 years at one of our manufacturing sites in the United States. We currently have one position in Virginia and one in Oklahoma to fill. Candidates must have the right to work in the United States and to travel to Canada. After this 1–2-year period, candidates will be either relocated to a permanent position at one of our American plants or deployed on another mandate in the US. The mobility is an important aspect of that position.
Your Responsibilities:
- Support American plants in the implementation of Cascades' continuous improvement program (structure of daily meetings, animation/facilitation of workshops and development of dashboards, among others);
- Coach , develop, and support site employees in continuous improvement: loss analysis, problem-solving, and more generally on Cascades' continuous improvement program.
- Coordinate and follow standardized operational practices, manufacturing procedures, work instructions and communication routine.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and problem-solving at American sites by coordinating and facilitating sessions in collaboration with the various stakeholders providing solutions and action plans to improve operational efficiency.
- Participate in achieving the unit’s action plan by identifying improvement opportunities focusing on productivity improvement, waste elimination, and achieving operational excellence
- Analyze data and trends to identify improvement opportunities; Develop knowledge of tools, techniques, and practices related to continuous improvement.
Your Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or paper engineering, or any other relevant training or related field.
- 1-4 years experience in a manufacturing enviroment
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean methodologies and tools or a strong interest to learn these skills and apply them.
- Have great communication & mobilization skills and be facilitator
- Excellent interpersonal skills, leadership and a collaborative spirit.
- Strong organizational skills and excellent prioritization abilities.
- Strong analytical skills, ability to solve complex problems and create action plans.
- Autonomy, rigor and sense of responsibility.
