RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure all safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations are adhered to and are regularly updated and communicated
• Review site safety audits to ensure that progress is being made towards list of open items with facility and maintenance management
• Assist leaders with accident/near miss/injury root cause investigations
• Maintain all proper documentation
• Ensure completion of appropriate corrective actions based on the outcome of the investigation
• Open to learning quality duties that involve review of product retains and support of the facility non-conformance program
• Facilitate Safety and Quality Training
• Provide new employee onboarding in support of Safety and Quality policies and procedures
• Help to update and maintain safety and quality training materials as needed
• Conduct hands on training for LOTO, Bin Entry, Forklift, etc.
• Conduct hands on training for quality checks, quality form completion, and facility SOP’s
• Follow-up with plant and dept managers to ensure that all employees are completing required trainings for their role and doing so within the allotted time frame
• Manage confined space, bin entry hot works, air blowdown process & compliance
• Verify prevention process & equipment inspections are being completed

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE & STRENGTHS

• Prior safety compliance experience highly desired.  Training will be provided for the quality tasks assigned to this role. 
• Apply and enforce Safety & Quality standards in accordance with established programs
• Facilitation of training materials regarding various safety and quality standards to be followed
• Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels
• Strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities

REQUIREMENTS

• Associates degree in safety/risk management, industrial hygiene, occupational health, safety engineering or related field is preferred however hands on experience will be considered
• 2+ years of safety team or coordinator experience
• Able to analyze and solve a variety of difficult situations and problems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
