At our Bear Island facility in Ashland, VA you can develop your full potential, sustainably, by applying your expertise within the Containerboard Packaging division of our team as the Financial Analyst:

The Financial Analyst at Cascades Containerboard Packaging reports to the Sr. Plant Controller, supporting plant accounting and manufacturing. Responsibilities include month-end close, variance analysis, and management reporting to include, fixed costs, production, inventory, expenditure, and profitability.

  • Provide maintenance cost expertise and SAP PLM-MRO module support.
  • Assist with month-end close, reconciliations, and daily maintenance cost reporting.
  • Collaborate across teams to improve cost efficiency and standardize processes.
  • Track capital project costs and coordinate inventory processes.
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and inventory policies.
  • Analyze fixed cost expenditures and recommend efficiency improvements.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and provide analytical support to Sr. Controller.
  • Produce monthly financial reporting packages and analyze results for variance reporting.

  • Strong problem-solving, decision making and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in SAP, and Strong Excel -must be able to create reports out of large amounts of data.
  • Detail-oriented, and strong organizational skills 
  • Ability to prepare financial reports and give recommendations based on available data.
  • Good communication, and presentation skills
  • An experience of 3+years in financial analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, processes, and controls
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
